Any guinea pigs out there?
I'm trying to finalize the instruction book and corresponding web instructions for the Zip Quilt Kits. I can't decide if the directions are too basic or too complicated, really clear or a total disaster. If someone out there would be willing to test the directions, I will send you a free Zip Quilt Kit prototype and draft instructions and all my appreciation.
In return, I hope you could make up the quilt soon (within a few days) and note any problems you have with the instructions. The ideal tester would be a novice seamstress with a sewing machine but you could sew by hand if you have a lot of time. Really, anyone who is willing to try to follow the instructions would be a huge help.
My goal is to have the instructions completed by this Sunday so the kits would go Monday and testing would be next week. Interested? E-mail me at mdhaworth at ucdavis-alumni dot com. THANKS!
This is more complicated than I anticipated.

I may give it a try. A tent is my next project.

Sooooo, would you be interested in making a bunch of them to have at Handmade Parade? I know you weren't planning on being a vendor, but they are super cool! If I wasn't knee deep in prep for that I would test one of these babies in an instant!
ps-my 18 mo old just looked at the pic of your baby and yelled baaaabbbeee! Pretty cute!

If you need another tester, I'll give it a shot. I'm *very* novice, but I have made one (count it, yes one!!) quilt, and I do have a sewing machine. I also have free time, since my work contract just ended. I had such late notice I couldn't pull M from daycare for the month, so I am a SAHM with no kids to care for. Harumph. Or should I enjoy it while it lasts? ;)
On an unrelated note, I have brainwashed M into loving her red Mary Janes, a la Biscuit. The hot pink butterfly boots are old news! :) Yay!

Happy to be a tester if you are really looking for a novice. I can borrow big j's machine. Just lemme know.

Another pretty clueless volunteer, if you need one. The kits look a lot of fun!
