Sorry, I don't think my parents are looking to adopt
I decided to take my mom up on her naive offer of assistance in sorting out the craft room disaster. I got my dad in the bargain as well. Four(ish) hours of hard work turned this (I can't believe I'm sharing this mess with the internet!!):
Into this (at least you know that I can be tidy. With some help):
Not only are things put away, they are newly (mostly) organized by color and/or material. And I pulled out a giant box to go to goodwill. Anyone want any fabric? Comment quick and I'll send some. I'm too lazy to take photos but it's mostly country calico stuff, a few yard+ pieces and a bunch of smaller scraps. All washed, none ironed. I'm happy to pack it up to send to you instead of to Goodwill.
Here's an in progress shot:
Since the photos were taken I finished cleaning off the table and got right to work on a new sewing project. THANKS MOM AND DAD!

I would love some fabric scraps -- I am trying to do more quilting (which really here means I am working on a very basic quilt and want to learn more quilting techniques) but I do sew a lot and would love the fabric! Pretty please?

Great Job... so nice when we have our loving family members ready to help us out, specially when we have little one(s) that keeps us really busy and a home business to run (my hubby runs his business from home and I am his helper :-) ). I would love to receive some of your yummy leftovers scraps/fabric ;-9 --- !!! I have a Zip It kit coming my way soon, so maybe I can make an additional mini quilt with these scraps.
Thanks for your kindness !

Good morning! Your room looks great! Not sure I'll get around to tidying my room....It has spilled out to the dining room table. Then again it's not that big a deal as I don't entertain often. And it's that time of year,,,sew...sew....sew...gifts to make! Speaking of gifts...I made up that little giftee for Biscuit...would you like a preview before I send it?

I have a friend who is an expert organizer and I'm too embarrassed to have her help me. I even told her this. I may try to scale down a bit after the holidays and then ask for her help. You are brave to share your photos of your room at it's worst. You're not alone though, mine is at a very high state of entropy!

Heee--you crack me up. I'm sure Claire and I would have been happy to organize your stuff (right into our cars!).
