There's a giant bird in my fridge
And it better thaw by Thursday.
Several times now I've lost my very important paper with the grocery list on one side and the menu (including cookbooks and page numbers) on the other side.
In the interest of having this recorded somewhere I can't lose it, here's the current menu for Thursday:
Appetizers (from my mother in law)
Curry Squash Soup served in a pumpkin (Susan Branch Autumn Cookbook p 51)
Roasted Beet Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing (Autumn p 45)
Fresh rolls (from my mom)
Roasted Turkey and gravy
Rice/mushroom dressing to be baked separate from turkey (Sunset magazine cookbook 1999 p 257)
Rice/sausage dressing to go in the bird (Martha Stewart Every Day Food-EDF- #7 p 93)
Mashed Potatoes
Green Bean Casserole (from my sister in law)
I need another vegetable side dish but my brussel sprout plan is unpopular.
Do I also need sweet potatoes?
Pecan pie (need to find recipe)
Gingerbread dessert (November 2007 Country Living p 148) (or is it Country Home? I get those magazines mixed up)
Apple pie (only if I change my mind and skip the gingerbread dessert)
Also scones and frittata for brunch with friends on Wednesday. The new kitchen is going to get a real workout!
The photo has nothing to do with anything but I thought it was cute and it reminds me not to put Biscuit in charge of menu planning :)

Just had some most delicious mashed sweet potatoes from Let's dish. wish i could send them to you... sooooooooo yummy!

I always make a sweet potato bake with cranberries. Simple and Yummy. Way better than the canned sweet potatoes with marshmallows that I grew up eating :o)
