Public service announcement--cheap wine

Several weeks ago--back when I was on vacation--I helped my family justify starting "wine time" just a touch early by assuring them that they were doing a service to the blog reading public. It was up the them to let the world know the best wine for $10 or under. Or, at least, the best of the wines we tried (which were all $10 and under).

Our fearless tasters:

More fearless tasters (well, except the cutie baby):

And the results:

As you can see, the Cline Zinfandel blew away the competition. The Bitch wine only got three votes because my mother-in-law gave it first place out of spite after all of us were going on and on about how yucky it was (and we could tell which one it is, despite the blind tasting.  The Penfolds Koonunga Hill Shiraz Cabernet placed a respectable second.

If you want to host your own blind wine tasting, I wrote up instructions to make the bags on Instructables.

Cheers!

My husbands family loves to do this. We gave the Bitch wine to his sister one year for christmas. Hehe.

This is such a fun idea. It would make a great holiday tradition.

Now this is my kind of party!!! I may have to make the bags and do this with my peeps!
