Old
I just got an email from one of my (many) cousins and did a double take. According to the e-signature she's a senior in college. My last clear memory of this cousin is helping her learn to sit at a family reunion and thinking that, if I liked babies (which I didn't really) six months would be my favorite baby age. If she's 22ish....that makes me....oldish.
And speaking of getting old, Biscuit is turning THREE in less than a month. Last year I about killed myself with the party planning and work is going to be busy for the next several weeks so this year I'm keeping it simple.
An "ice cream Saturday" for mostly just family.
Whenever I've asked her what she wants for her birthday she replies "number candles." When I ask her what she wants to do at her party, she says, "blow out candles." So you can imagine my excitement when she added "ice cream" to the list of things she wants for her birthday. Number candles and ice cream it is.
I'm sure Eric Carle has a copyright on this technique but, if you ask me, it's a great way to "use up" the piles of art that come home from school.
Been a super busy weekend. Mr. H and I are addicted to projects--he built two fences and I planted the garden and did a bunch of sewing. Biscuit "washed" the floors and dishes several times. She's currently in love with her spray bottle and soapy water (in addition to number candles and ice cream).
Maybe we can get all the birthday attendees to wash our windows. You know, to celebrate.

Definitely, simple is much better! Daily life is crazy enough with an almost 3 year old, who needs to add crazy party planning to the list!
I hear you about getting old...this year my niece's teacher is a girl I used to baby-sit. The math on that just can not work out. :)

I think you should totally make everyone wash your windows for an activity the Biscuit really enjoys. :) Not sure how everyone would feel about that.

Yummy... ice cream and number candles sounds like a recipe for fun!!! Especially since you won't be able to overextend yourself ;) We have a request for a moon bounce and a pinata. I vote for the pinata this year since renting a moonbounce for 2 kids isn't quite worth it. You guys are being sooooo productive.
