On my walls
I've had this perfectly nice, but sparse, photo display on my wall since Mr. H and I moved in three years ago. It was time for a change.
So I collected frames (and stuff), painted most everything white and started working on a layout.
After 2+ weeks of walking over and around these frames, I finally hung them on the wall.
As you can see, I still have some empty frames. I plan to hang a clipboard in the large one in the upper left but Biscuit "adopted" my clipboard and now it's lost. Obviously, I also need to replace my sideways engagement portrait. As I was working on the design I started just grabbing frames from around the house and fitting them in.
I plan to put some fabric (or embroidery?) in that metal, oval hoop and to decoupage a fabric "H" on the wood plaque in the upper left. I'm waiting on both of those because now I also want to paint the wall so I'm not sure what fabric would work.
I forgot to account for my lamps in my design (duh!). Learn from my mistake! The painting is a Biscuit original and the eye chart is something I spent too much on at an antique store. I love it. Mr. H hates it. Sorry, Mr. H.
I put some rocks in the box after I took the other photos. One is felted (felting rocks is really fun).
And, finally, while I was procrastinating on hanging this wall, I nailed a bunch of magnetic clips to the wall in the hall and made a rotating gallery for Biscuit's art (or whatever).
very, very instant gratification.
My day job is keeping me hopping lately. Be back when I can.

1) I love the arrangement.
2) I love the clips idea.

Wow, I love the collection of frames! I have very sparse walls myself, but I think I may try this on a wall in my foyer! My foyer has red wallpaper and I think a bunch of monochromatic frames would look good on it!

Love the picture wall! I need to do something closer to that on one of our walls. I have a bunch of stuff hanging but I think it needs the frames all in the same color like you've done. Give yourself a pat on the back!! :0)

Melissa, it all looks great! I love it! I think I recognize the eye chart, didn't you get it when we were antiquing in Folsom? I like it too, sorry Mr. H!

That's what we're planning on doing in our living room. It was even my hubby's idea. (You can't tell he likes Pottery Barn!)
What's your day job?

The frames look great! I have wanted to do something like that for years, but just haven't gotten around to it.
I used to babysit for a family that had a little phone shelf like the one in your hall. That definitely brought back memories.

I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only person who has empty frames on her wall that are waiting to be filled...
It looks great (and I like the eye chart, too).
