I'm loving the food blogosphere lately. I've also been on a cooking kick. Orangette is always a fav but since she's on an I-just-opened-a-restaurant recipe blogging hiatus I've been expanding my horizons (after trying her drunk peaches concept a few times of course--very good).
I particularly love the real life sort of food bloggers. Especially those by bloggers who are awesome writers, have kids to feed, and make straightforward food that I like. New recipes always inspire me to cook and lately Scrambled (by Julia) and Dalai Mama Dishes (by Catherine Newman of Ben and Birdy) are my go to source for meal ideas.
Julia posted a recipe for grilled pizza. I used exactly none of her recipe suggestions--just the inspiration for lunch on Friday. The dough I used is my new standard (the olive oil bread recipe from Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day--great book but check the errata--quite a few mistakes) and I topped it with sliced tomatoes, chopped swiss chard, chopped fresh basil and shredded mozzerella. The crust was deliciously crispy and this meal got a big thumbs up--from me at least, Biscuit didn't eat hers :(
Yay for people who share recipes and ideas on ye olde internet. It keeps our family fed!

YUM! I'll eat biscuit's share!
