I had a vision for this footstool in my head over the holidays. Luckily, there was a decent stump in the woodpile (once I removed the bugs) and Mr. H is handy with a chain saw to trim the stump and then a lathe to make the feet.
All I did was mess up the upholstery and paint the feet yellow. It's kind of shedding bark all over the floor but I still like it.
Mr. H thinks I'm nuts but I see I'm not the only person putting a stump to use. Too bad California pine tree stumps aren't half as cool as African stumps appear to be.

OMG that is awesome!!!! My dad left some of his turning stumps here when they moved; they are barkless but very beautiful. I should bring one inside but I'd probably stub my toes on it daily and the cats would most likely shred it. But maybe not. Its worth a try! LOVE the fabric you've used for the top.
