Our thrift store frequently has stacks of these glass trays (ashtrays?) for a dollar each and I am ALWAYS tempted. A few weeks ago I finally broke down and bought three.
I must say, they make dinner so much fun. I love them.
In the category of stuff I actually (sort of) need, a cast iron pan has been on the list for months. Every time I go to the thrift store (or the real store) I look but to no avail. Until Monday when there were inexplicably FOUR cast iron pans to choose from. I got this specimen for $7.99 and I am very pleased.
And all that yummy food that my new-to-me purchases are displaying is courtesy of a recipe at Smitten Kitchen which I found via Angry Chicken when I clicked her link to this cake recipe which showed "this time last year" was the black bean tacos. Got that? Amazingly I had every single ingredient sitting in my kitchen (Except the lime. Used a lemon. It was fine). These came together in about 15 minutes. Biscuit declared them delicious. I agreed and promptly ate five tacos. Oops. Now I have to make that Walnut Cake. And, unfortunately, the candy recipe I also saw over there. I've got to stay away from Smitten Kitchen.

Smitten kitchen is soooooo dangerous. I was turned onto it by a friend and now have it in my reader which means that I get all the goodness every day....tempting me. I last made granola bars from it that were so good and so easy to make that I ate half a pan myself and then had to make another pan so the husband could some. And them I ate half of that one too..,,

They are luncheon sets, I have a bunch. That is my favorite pattern, too!
