Biscuit realized her Halloween costume dream today. Oscar helped her out by playing the part of Harold. Do you know the book?
Because she wanted to up the obscurity factor, she specifically wanted to be the "terribly frightening dragon"
And, of course, the apple tree the dragon was drawn to guard.
A local church hosted trunk or treat tonight with some impressively decorated cars. The kids' costumes got a lot of appreciation along with questions and confusion.
Biscuit painted the tree and dragon this morning (we had traced it from a projection of the illustration--see the book there?)
I made the crayon during naptime and we were set. I sure hope it doesn't rain on Monday!

Oh, that is awesome. I love it.
(To be fair - I don't think I'd have recognized it, but I love it nonetheless.)

That is hilarious. I see a little tooth poking in... hope "Harold" is taking it well. :)

Whoa, becca--you are observant! The tooth arrived last weekend and I didnt even notice. My sister in law pointed it out to me : ) Now, I would have noticed eventually Im sure but she did catch it first. Hopefully all the teeth arrive as easily!

This is my favorite part: "And, of course, the apple tree the dragon was drawn to guard."

I absolutely LOVE how creative you are with your children. I just found your blog today from Tanja's Cooking Corner on fb. I saw Typing Cow & Farmer Brown from last year. I thought for sure there would be a vampire this year. But your Harold & the Purple Crayon is so much better! Your children are so adorable! Susan

Thanks, Susan :) I think this will be the last year for storybook costumes. She was SO excited to make it and with how it came out but got a little embarrassed to actually wear it at school. She wore it for a few minutes and then took of the tree (which was a bit awkward for a parade)

Love it!
(I would have gotten it.)
