One of my goals for this year was to finish decorating and clean up each room of my house (one at a time!) and try to photograph it as though I was going to be featured on a design blog ;) Not long ago, and only two years after he moved in, I finally took a full set of photos of Oscar's room. They aren't exactly design-blog worthy but it makes me happy to have a record of his space. And I love how many handmade things are in his room.
I blogged about the leaf quilt here and the bird mobile here. I also knit the gray blanket and made the quilt on his bed which I love but it doesn't photograph well and I don't think I've blogged it. Bed is from Ikea.
I posted about the dresser paint job. The clock is from back when I was making book clocks a lot. The car trailer wood toy was made by my maternal grandfather who was a toy maker in retirement. The art is all by my friend Lauren. Buying Oscar a piece of art each year is quickly becoming "a thing." The shoe I got through a drawing in Lauren's blog. I bought the cherries for his first birthday because he was born right in the middle of cherry season at our house. I commissioned the painting of our chicken for his second birthday to document his love for our hens.
The bookshelf was part of a set of three I built years ago (with help from Mr. H). The other pieces are now in my craft shack. The tool bench was from Santa--it is not homemade. I made the wood truck on the bookshelf and the rocking horse on the top (cut off) is also by my grandpa. The box on the bottom holds train parts.
Mr. H made the engraved wood blocks for Biscuit when she was little.
Photo in fabric frame was a little something I made. Coat rack was a gift from a friend (from Etsy). Boots are hand me downs from a friend and pull duck is from my grandpa. The white sheet hides a giant disaster of wrapping paper, storage and Oscar's toys.
I love his stuffed animals. The chenille bear I made for Biscuit along with the green dress bear which is from a Wee Wonderfuls pattern. I also sewed the monster but perhaps didn't blog about it? It may have been pre blog. The fluffy bear in the back was made by my mother-in-law for Biscuit.
Cutie! Train is by my grandpa.
Next up, Biscuit's room. Once she saw me tidying and photographing Oscar's room she had to be a part of it.
