I have been waiting and waiting for Oscar to learn to write the alphabet so I could make another alphabet embroidery. He's actually known the letters for some time but, unlike his sister, he has no desire to sit down and write.
Finally when he had to come to Girl Scout meeting last week with his sister all of us Girl Scouts tricked him into it. "I bet Oscar can't write the first letter of MY name. He can't write an M!" and of course he had to prove us wrong. 26 letters later I had what I needed including a highly embellished letter J.
I like redwork embroidery and red is his favorite color so that was easy. The stitching isn't perfect but it's good enough. And I don't like the quilting around the edge as much as Biscuit's but I'm still happy. Especially since I got it done in time for Mother's Day.
This is the text we started with. I had him redo that enormous letter K.
Hope your Mother's Day was as pleasant as mine.
