I've already shared my love of Google Hangouts so, today, I will praise the Shape app by Adobe. It is unbelievable! You take a picture of anything and it turns it into a vector image. Then you can export as a jpeg (which isn't vector, I don't think) but you can do all that for free! I have the (very expensive) Creative Cloud monthly membership which I have needed for book layout so with that I can take a photo on my phone, create a vector on my phone, save it to my Creative Cloud library, turn around to a desktop computer and it's already there, in Illustrator, ready to manipulate and use. Unbelievable.
I drew this arrow ;)
And now it's a vector along with the other book images.
Then I took a photo of my mouse and my "mousepad" book.
You can refine what it picks up and, voila, it's an image.
In somewhat related news, I just updated our book website. The book is basically done!!
