I made/assembled a number of gifts this year and photographed exactly zero of them. Mr. H also made many gifts but since Biscuit and I were the recipients I was able to photograph them in January.
The giant "button" is actually a turned cake stand! He also made the turned salt and pepper shakers out of a beautiful piece of maple.
We've lived with a really crappy pepper grinder for years and now this one works great. It's even adjustable.
Believe it or not, this isn't all I got from him. Mr. H gave me TWELVE days of Christmas--that's 12 gifts total in the days leading up to the big day. I got all sorts of fun, practical stuff (I strongly prefer practical gifts). The culmination was the handmade stuff above and a small bookshelf for our bedroom.
There is a lot of detail in this piece including ebony pegs and accents. It'll be perfect for corralling my magazine/book/bedside disaster zone.
And, finally, he made Biscuit a miniature armoire for her dress up clothes.
It was made from doors intended for another project (but ordered in the wrong size. Oops.)
Inside is a hanger rod, a drawer (and room for another) and a mirror. Just perfect to contain the leotards, dance shoes, princess dresses and other four year old paraphernalia.
Sheesh, putting it all in one post makes him look extra productive, doesn't it?
WOW!!! You have an amazingly talented hubby, everything is beautiful!!
My dad is a woodturner but he didn't make me anything this year(pout!). He made my mom a lazy susan for their table and two bowls for my aunt. Last year he did super cool angels. I was hoping for some hair sticks or crochet hooks.
Enjoy!

You are two lucky girls. I wish I had a work worker for a husband - I'm the only one who uses power tools in this house...
