Booth in action
Our family friends shoved inside for a portrait--they didn't ask to be on the blog, hence the blurry faces ;)
Awesome results. LOVE
Last Saturday our super awesome mailman showed up on my porch with a big refrigerator box.
"I found it!" he told me. "I've been asking around all week and finally got one at the apartment complex."
I was perplexed, "how did you know I needed a refrigerator box?" I asked.
"Biscuit told me."
So there you go.
This idea popped into my head a month or so ago and I mentioned it to Biscuit at some point. Apparently she and the mailman were chatting so I got a box to fulfill my vision of a DIY photo booth. Thanks to our incredible mailman.
Of course Biscuit wanted to make it THAT MINUTE and we had guests coming over and stuff to do but I relented and in less than 15 minutes the photo booth was operational. I guess I envisioned it being painted and decorated and Pinteresty but the sheet backdrops are kinda cool. You can flip over a new background just like JC Penney!
Now whenever folks stop by I invite them in for a photobooth session. It's awesome having a giant photobooth in your living room. I just took an adorable shot of Biscuit and her cousin and sent it with the cousin as a little souvenier. She'd never seen polaroid type film so that was fun :)
If you want your own photo booth you need:
- one refrigerator box (ours is from what must be the tiniest refrigerator ever so it maximizes the squished-in look of traditional photo booths)
- An instax camera for instant gratification (I have the Instax mini which is perfect)
- A box cutter/knife/exacto
- Some fabric/sheets/paint
- A stool/small chair to put inside
- A ruler helps for cutting a straight doorway
Directions: Cut a big hole in one side to get in (leave a bit at the bottom so the box doesn't fall apart) and cut a window for the camera on the side adjacent to your doorway.. Drape sheets over the back and around the sides without the window. (this also creates a curtain across the "door").
Shove in your people and snap away. SO. FUN.
Enjoy!
Those pictures are all adorable.
